BOISE -- A victim has died as a result of a morning house fire at 5824 West Randolph Drive in the Boise Bench neighborhood.
Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan confirmed the death at 8:20 Monday morning.
Fire department officials say they responded to the fire at approximately 7:37 a.m. That's when neighbors reported seeing smoke at the home and called 9-1-1.
No official details are available about the age, gender, or identity of the victim. However, neighbors tell KTVB an elderly woman lived in the home.
Firefighters say the person died after a fire started in a bedroom and spread to the attic of the home.
They also say much of the home suffered heat damage, with the worst damage being the rear corner of the main level of the house where fire damage also went into the walls and attic.
Five fire trucks and several-dozen firefighters responded to the fire.
