BOISE -- The Scottish American Athletic Association held its first ever Fort Boise Highland Games Saturday at the Boise VA Medical Center.
Veterans, their families, and the Celtic community were invited to gather for Highland heavy athletics, including a 5K kilted fell race.
There were also stone tosses and Scottish hammer events.
"We're here mostly today for the VA, for the veterans, so the veterans get to enjoy this experience. We bring kids out, all the kids events are free when we do them. It's just a sense of community, get everybody out. It's springtime, get moving," said Chuck McClain, Scottish American Athletic Association.
The event wrapped up at 5 p.m. Saturday.
