BOISE – Saturday was a good September day for picking sweet corn.
The Apostles Garden is on five acres of donated land. Volunteers pick the corn and it all gets donated to the Meridian Food Bank, senior center, and other food pantries.
The corn was planted in stages and organizers say they are going to need help picking it throughout the month.
One of the groups already signed up is refugees.
“What I've heard is that corn is great for all nationalities so it’s a perfect crop to share,” said Juliet Jones with the Apostles Garden.
Anyone can help pick corn. You're asked to leave it for the food pantries or make a small donation and take some home.
