BOISE -- About 60 Supervalu employees in Boise learned Wednesday they will be laid off.
Supervalu, which owns the majority of Albertsons stores, announced the layoffs will affect workers in the finance department.
In a prepared statement, the company said it began plans to assess specific functions within the finance organization in mid-March.
Following that assessment, Supervalu decided to pass along some of the finance department's responsibilities to another partner.
Sixty employees in the Boise area will lose their jobs.
Right now, Supervalu employs about 2,800 associates in the Treasure Valley.
