BOISE -- The WOW Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon kicks off at 6 a.m. Friday. Money raised will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers.

The telethon runs until 7 p.m. Friday. Call 1-800-343-4077 to make a donation. More info here.

Since the Country Cares program began in 1989 nearly 200 radio stations across America have raised more than 385 million dollars in pledges for the children of St. Jude.

In the last 50 years St. Jude has helped improve the overall survival rate of childhood cancer from 20 percent to 80 percent.

On average, 7,800 patients are treated at St. Jude each year.

Thanks to donors, no child is ever denied treatment because of an inability to pay.

Families never pay St. Jude for expenses not covered by insurance.

KTVB is a proud sponsor of another event that raises money for St. Jude -- the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. This year's Dream Home is located in Eagle. Tickets will go on sale in April.

In the meantime -- you can help the children of St. Jude right now -- through WOW 104.3's Country Cares St. Jude Radiothon. Randy and Alana will be taking your calls beginning at 6 a.m.

Once again, just call 1-800-343-4077 for more information.
