BOISE -- Firefighters working on the Springs Fire gained the upper hand Sunday night.
Officials say around 6:00 p.m. the fire was 100 percent contained.
Crews will continue to patrol and mop up the remaining fire perimeter, while rehabilitation work continues on areas where the fire is secure. On the south side of the fire, straw waddle were installed along the dozer line to prevent erosion.
Even with the predicted weather for Sunday, there is no concern for fire activity to increase on the Springs Fire, but if a new fire does happen, there is a chance that it could grow rapidly.
There were 355 people working the Springs Fire, and it grew to 6,150 acres.
The cause is still under investigation
