TWIN FALLS -- Runners in south-central Idaho could soon by trying to outrun the long arm of the law.
Heyburn officials are considering a fundraising race where participants would dash through the streets trying to avoid Minidoka County Sheriff's deputies and other authorities.
The Times-News reports that money raised at the event would go toward the county's K-9 program.
If approved, the event would take place May 18 with participants trying to elude authorities whose goal would be to confiscate flags carried by participants
Heyburn Police Chief Dan Bristol says the city will need to inform households along the route that police in pursuit are just part of a sporting event and mayhem hasn't broken out.
