MERIDIAN -- Fire and power crews responded to a rollover crash that ignited a grass fire Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Black Cat and Overland roads.

Ada County dispatchers say the accident happened around 4:13 p.m. just to the north of the intersection along Black Cat Road.

Ada County Sheriff's Office says a man was driving north on Black Cat Road, when he lost control of his pickup truck causing it to roll and hit a power pole. Officials say the truck caught on fire and the power lines were knocked down. That is when the grass fire started.

The accident briefly shut down Black Cat Road and caused a power outage that lasted for several hours.

Police say the man was able to get out of his truck, and it did not look like he appeared to have suffered from any serious injuries.

Ada County Sheriff's deputies, Meridian Police and Meridian Fire responded to the scene.
