BOISE -- There was a special delivery to the Boise Veteran Affairs Hospital Monday.

The Idaho Chapter of the American Red Cross brought in therapeutic items for military veterans, as well as supplies to homeless vets who use the community living center as a stopping off point.

Among the items delivered to the VA included electronic equipment like portable CD and DVD players.

"For veterans that are coming in and staying with us, maybe a couple weeks or a couple nights, we don't have TV in the rooms, so kind of for entertainment purposes and something to keep your mind occupied. These are nice things to be able to have and we can loan them to a veteran, they can watch a few movies every night and help make their stay here a little more comfortable." said Josh Callihan with the Boise VA Hospital.

The donations were made possible by a $5,000 grant.

Veterans were also given bus and taxi vouchers, and homeless veterans were given clothing items and toiletries.

The VA says they're always looking for donations and volunteers, and if you're interested you can call the VA volunteer office at 442-1175.
