BOISE -- Reports of several aggressive door-to-door solicitors have prompted Boise Police to warn the public to be alert when answering the door.

This week, several residents claimed aggressive solicitors with DirecTV or Dish Network came to their homes and asked to get inside.

After investigating, Boise Police say it appears that at least some of the solicitors are indeed licensed with the city.

However, because of their aggressive tactics, the soliticitors appear to be causing a number of residents concern.

If you feel a door-to-door solicitor is being uncommonly aggressive, Boise Police say ask if they have a city-issued license.

If so, get their name and solicitor license number and call the Boise City clerks office at 208-384-3710, or call 911 if a solicitor appears threatening or suspicious.
