BOISE -- A man is in jail, after being spotted in a stolen car, and holing up at a convenience store for two-and-a-half hours Saturday afternoon.
Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Schmidt of Boise is charged with grand theft and resisting and obstructing officers.
There was also an agent's warrant and a contempt of court warrant out for him.
Around 3:30 p.m., a Boise Police officer says he spotted Schmidt driving a stolen car, a 1997 Oldsmobile.
Schmidt pulled into the parking lot of the Jacksons convenience store at Nez Perce Street and South Roosevelt Street.
Police say he ignored the officer's command to stop and kept walking into the store.
Officers said Schmidt has a violent criminal history, so officers immediately evacuated the store, and shut down nearby streets.
The SWAT team was brought in, and officers deployed pepper spray.
A short time later, Schmidt was found in the bathroom of the store, and surrendered.
He is being held at the Ada County Jail.
