BOISE -- Boise Police say they have arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman at a Boise motel Tuesday morning.
Thomas Herman of Boise was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Ada County Jail. Herman is charged with first-degree murder. He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
Police were called around 7 a.m. to investigate a suspicious death at the Cabana Inn motel in downtown Boise. A woman was found dead in a motel room.
The Ada County coroner performed an autopsy today on the victim as listed her manner of death as a homicide. He concluded the middle aged female died from blunt force trauma due to an assault. Her time of death is listed at 5:01 a.m. Tuesday, two hours before officers arrived on scene.
The victim's name has not been released pending positive identification and notification of family.
Officers have no reason to believe anyone else is involved and say there appears to be no threat to the community.
The motel is located at 1600 Main Street in Boise.
