TWIN FALLS -- Police are investigating the near-death of a one-and-a-half year old boy. He was being watched by a babysitter at a Twin Falls apartment Wednesday afternoon when he stopped breathing. The boy's heart also stopped beating.
The babysitter tells police the child was napping at the time. When she went to check on him around 2 p.m. and he would not wake up.
Paramedics transported the baby to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. That's where he was revived. He was later transferred to St. Luke's in Boise for further treatment.
"We're treating this as a serious investigation. We want to know what the circumstances were surrounding the child's situation," said Staff Sergeant Terry Thueson with the Twin Falls Police Department.
The boy's condition has not been released.
