ONTARIO -- An Idaho felon is in the Malheur County Jail Thursday night, after he barricaded himself in an Ontario home.

Ontario Police say they learned that 26-year-old Kristopher Craig Hensley was at a home in the 400 block of Northwest 5th Street in Ontario.

Hensley was wanted out of Ada and Payette County for felony warrants, and was considered armed and dangerous, and a flight risk.

Police say several attempts were made to contact Hensley including putting tear gas in the house, but he did not respond.

Around 5:45 p.m., Hensley was found hiding in the attic space of the home.

Police say homes in the area were were evacuated and surrounding streets were blocked off.

While deploying tear gas, an Ontario Police Officer sustained an arm injury, but he was treated and released from St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario.
