BOISE -- Two Treasure Valley men are charged with felony grand theft, among other crimes, after police say their drunken joyride ended at the Ada County Jail early Sunday morning.

James L. Teget, 21, of Boise and Jeremy E. Loughran, 21, of Meridian are suspected of stealing a cab around 3 a.m. from outside a downtown bar near the 400 block of South 8th Street.

Police say the theft happened when the cab driver entered the bar to find a person scheduled to be picked up.

Witnesses told police they spotted two men enter the cab and steal it.

However, officers quickly identified the errant cab and pulled over the two men near Interstate 84 and Overland Road.

Police say it was fairly easy to spot the cab after it was reported stolen.

The driver, James L. Teget, appeared to be very drunk and failed several field sobriety tests, according to police. Records indicate he also had a suspended driver's license.

Teget was charged with felony grand theft, DUI, and driving without privileges.

His passenger, Jeremy E. Loughran, was charged with felony grand theft.

Police say both men were taken into custody without incident. They're currently in the Ada County Jail.
