MERIDIAN -- A Meridian man is in jail accused of stealing a pickup truck while high on bath salts.
Officers say 29-year-old Jesse Byerly stole the truck around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Shortly after that, a man told police that Byerly attacked him with a hammer.
Police spotted Byerly in the stolen truck and pulled him over.
They discovered other stolen items in Byerly’s possession including a truck trailer, lawn furniture and a fire pit.
Police say Byerly was also under the influence of bath salts.
Bath salts are the synthetic drug that was banned in Idaho earlier this year.
Byerly faces multiple charges including grand theft and possession of bath salts.
