BOISE – The Ada County coroner has released the identity of a man killed in a motorcycle crash on Warm Springs Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg says 23-year-old Austin Laughlin of Garden City died from blunt force trauma after losing control of his bike. He was not wearing a helmet.

Witnesses told police that three motorcycles were eastbound on Warm Springs Avenue near Starcrest Drive around 3:30 p.m. when two of the bikes made contact while entering a curve in the road.

Laughlin was thrown from his bike to the Greenbelt below. People on the pathway attempted to help him, but he died at the scene.

A second rider, also in his 20s, was thrown from his bike and taken to a Boise hospital with serious injuries.

The third rider was not involved. Police have spoken to him about the crash.

The names of the two other riders have not been released.

No citations have been issued. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
