NAMPA -- It's the unofficial kick off to the Snake River Stampede, and it's a tradition for the city of Nampa.
All the proceeds from this pancake breakfast go to support the local initiatives of the participating service clubs, and it lets the community know the Stampede is here.
Those with the Nampa Chamber of Commerce say it's a long standing tradition that didn't always happen in the downtown, but this year flipping those famous flapjacks was back in Nampa.
"We have a beautiful downtown. Nampa is a beautiful downtown, and it's wonderful to bring people into the core of the community and have them experience this great downtown that we have in Nampa," said Debbie Cling with Nampa Chamber of Commerce.
Cling says that we are two years away from the 100th anniversary of the Snake River Stampede, so they are really trying to get things revved up by holding this pancake event in the downtown.
