BAKER CITY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police are investigating a deadly collision near Baker City that killed one woman and critically injured another motorcyclist Monday afternoon.

Police say around 12:30 p.m., a group of four motorcycles were traveling together northbound on Highway 7, just west of the Highway 245 junction. That's when 24-year-old Derrick Coates, from Baker City, Oregon, crossed the center line and hit two motorcyclists with his pickup truck.

46-year old Leta Louise Currey from Pendleton, Oregon died at the scene.

53-year old Joanne Mohrland from Walla Walla, Washington was critically injured and life flighted to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Police say Coates only received minor injuries.
