BOISE -- Boise Police say two teenagers on their way to school this morning were hurt in an accident at the intersection of Overland and Cloverdale roads.

The accident happened at 7:20 a.m.

Investigators say a Volvo was headed north on Cloverdale and attempted to make a left turn onto Overland Road when it collided with a Dodge pickup truck headed south on Cloverdale.

Police say a brother and sister were in the Volvo and were headed to school.  The boy was driving.

The girl, who was in the passenger seat, had to be extricated from the crash. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The boy was also taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

The male driver of the pickup was not hurt in the crash.

Police say the boy was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn. It is a violation that carries a $90 fine.
