BOISE -- Occupy Boise protesters can again pitch tents on state-owned lawns in Boise, but may wait until the sprinklers are turned off and the November elections are at hand before re-occupying the land.
On June 13, the group protesting Wall Street greed was ordered by a federal judge to vacate the Capitol Annex grounds for eight weeks to allow Idaho to repair lawns damaged by tents first erected Nov. 5, 2011.
Though Winmill's order allows Occupy Boise to resume its symbolic tent encampment this week, one leader, Dean Gunderson, said doing so would require supporters to remove tents down nightly to allow for watering.
Gunderson said his group may wait until fall -- when sprinklers are off, mowing is unnecessary and people are more focused on politics, not their summer vacations.
