BOISE -- The Ada County Sheriff's Office is rolling out new patrol cars.
The Chevy Tahoes will begin patrolling for the first time Friday.
They are making the change because Ford announced last year it would no longer produce the Crown Victoria, the patrol vehicle used by a majority of law enforcement agencies across the country.
After that announcement, the sheriff's office began the process to choose a new patrol vehicle.
After researching and testing, they determined the Chevrolet Tahoe was the best option.
