NAMPA -- Restaurants and bars in Nampa can now sell hard liquor on Sundays beginning this Sunday.

Last month, the Nampa City Council agreed to lift the city's ban on Sunday liquor sales in restaurants and bars.

Before, restaurants and bars in Idaho's second biggest city could only sell beer and wine on Sundays.

Business owners hope added sales will increase their bottom line.

Opponents say easing liquor laws without toughening drunk driving laws is irresponsible.
