NAMPA -- A Nampa man will spend at least a decade in prison for raping a woman at his home after a New Year's Eve party.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports a district judge sentenced 43-year-old Peter Trejo Mora of Nampa during a hearing Wednesday. Ford rejected a shorter sentence recommended by prosecutors in exchange for Mora's guilty plea in the case.
The victim testified during the hearing, saying she no longer trusts men because of what happened. Mora also received a sharp rebuke from Judge Bradly Ford, who told him that woman would be living "under the cloud of this" for the rest of her life.
Prosecutors recommended Mora serve five years to life in prison, but Ford said a longer term was warranted.
