BOISE -- In response to the Newtown tragedy, some Idahoans are putting in special effort to spread some kindness.

Bonnie Bertram and her husband George own the famous McCall Pancake House.

Bonnie and George wanted to spread some good cheer and tell the children, teachers and staff in the McCall-Donnelly School District just how special they are, so they have given every child, teacher and staff member a $20 gift certificate to the Pancake House.

That is 900 certificates, which equals out to $18,000.

The Pancake House's foyer is already filled with thank you cards, and one of them says,  "We all plan to pay it forward."
