NAMPA -- After a nearly four-hour standoff Sunday, Nampa Police arrested a man wanted for lewd conduct with a minor.

Police originally went to the home of 52-year-old Patrick Massie to serve a search warrant in a child abuse case. But police said Massie would not come out.

"When they arrived to the house, the individual or the resident of the house would not answer the door, and would not come out. We received some information that he was possibly armed, so we called out our tactical response team," said Sgt Tim Randall.

Officers received information that Massie had several firearms in the residence, so they called for back up, only as a precaution.

Several homes around the scene were evacuated.

The Crisis Negotiation Team was finally able to talk Massie out of his home, and he surrendered to police.

He was taken to Canyon County Jail and will be arraigned Monday.
