BOISE -- Police say a Boise man was driving drunk when he hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk early Sunday morning near Grove and 6th streets.

Boise Police arrested 27-year-old Daniel J. Weatherly just after midnight Sunday. Weatherly is charged with DUI, felony driving without priveleges, and one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident.

Officers say Weatherly hit a woman who was using a nearby crosswalk, then left the scene. Officers described the woman's injuries as "minimal," but say she was treated by paramedics.

Police also say the woman somehow helped officers identify Weatherly, and a subsequent search led them to a home near the 6300 block of Everett Street where he was found.

Police say Weatherly appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test.

He was booked at the Ada County Jail.
