BOISE -- Idaho's State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna officially filed his papers to run for re-election Wednesday.
It appears Luna will face off against Boise School District Superintendent Stan Olson.
In a statement Wednesday, the party says Olson will announce his candidacy for the office of State Superintendent on Thursday in Boise.
Tom Luna has held the office since January 2007 after narrowly defeating Democrat Jana Jones. Luna, a Republican, filed papers with the Idaho secretary of state on Wednesday, seeking a second term.
Olson told The Associated Press he'll file early Thursday to run in the May primary.
