SANTA MONICA, California -- A local educator from Boise is being nationally recognized for his teaching skills.
Aaron McKinnon teaches at South Junior High School in Boise.
McKinnon was honored Saturday in California with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award.
The event is hailed as the "Oscars of Teaching" by Teacher Magazine.
