MERIDIAN -- A Meridian retirement community is expanding - and will soon offer new services for seniors living with memory-robbing diseases.
On Friday, Mayor Tammy DeWeerd helped Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village lay the foundation for its $22.1 million expansion project.
The new three-story Targhee Lodge will offer 68 homes for people living independently.
The one-story Owyhee Lodge will offer 48 private studios and memory care services, specifically for people with Alzheimer's or other age-related dementia illnesses.
The expansion is expected to be complete just over a year from now, in the fall of 2013.
