BOISE -- Police arrested 23-year-old Abdirizak Hamud of Boise on Wednesday afternoon after they say he tried to rob a convenience store and threatened clerks with several knives.
According to police reports, Hamud tried to rob a convenience store near the 5800 block of Franklin Street around 4:30 p.m. Police say the 23-yearold entered the store, and then started waved a knife in the air, demanding money. At some point, he started waving another knife, according to the report.
However, police say the 23-year-old was ultimately unsuccessful in his robbery attempt, and left from the store in a vehicle.
He also left both knives in the store.
In an odd turn of events, Sheriff's Deputies eventually arrested Hamud directly across the street from the Ada County Sheriff's Dept. on Barrister Sreet in Boise.
After a detailed investigation, he was taken to the Ada County Jail and charged with one count of felony robbery.
