BOISE -- If you are a Jeep owner, listen up.

After some argument, Chrysler has decided to act on the government's request to recall nearly three million SUVs.

On Tuesday, the company announced it would be recalling Jeep Grand Cherokees with model years between 1993 and 2004, as well as Libertys from 2002 to 2007.

This comes after concern that if one of these Jeep models was rear-ended in a crash, a fire could ignite at the fuel tank.

KTVB spoke with Peterson Stampede in Nampa about this, and they say wait for a Chrysler card in the mail to see if you're impacted.

"If you've got a vehicle that falls into the criteria, then call the dealer. Call us and find out what we do or don't know. But right now, just today this happened, so we don't have all the details. The biggest thing is to make sure we have the correct information," said Service Director Mert Logue.

So if you've moved since you've registered your car, call a nearby Jeep dealership to update your address.
