BOISE -- A former Ada County Jail deputy was arrested Wednesday night on charges of sexual contact with an inmate.
Officials say 36-year-old Seanjay Wright was booked into the Ada County Jail on two counts of sexual contact with an inmate, a felony.
They also say that jail deputies were told about the possible sexual contact between Wright and a female inmate as of Wednesday morning.
Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney says he asked the Boise Police Department to investigate to avoid any conflict of interest, and based on the evidence police found, Wright was arrested for having sexual contact with the inmate on two occasions.
"Seanjay violated the trust of the community and let down the other 650 men and women working for the Sheriff's Office who take great pride in their ethical conduct," Raney said. "He will now face the consequences of his actions by being on the other side of the bars. We take this very seriously and are going to look closely at our jail operations to make sure it never happens again."
Wright was with the Ada County Sheriff's Office for two years.
