BOISE -- The Winter Games are on for Idaho Special Olympics athletes.
Earlier Friday evening, athletes and Special Olympics supporters accompanied the Flame of Hope to the Cathedral of the Rockies near downtown Boise for tonight's opening ceremony.
Law enforcement Torch Run officers lit the Flame of Hope, before athletes took the oath to officially open the games.
Competition begins Saturday, with about 400 athletes from as far away as Sandpoint and ranging in age from eight to 90.
Floor hockey will be at the Boise State Rec Center starting at 9:00 Saturday morning. While snow sports will take place at Bogus Basin starting at 10:00 a.m.
