GREENBELT, Md. -- Images from NASA's Goddard Space Center show wildfires in Idaho and Oregon that are clearly visible from space.
The fires in question include Idaho's Halstead Fire, and Oregon's Holloway Fire.
The images can be found online in NASA's "Natural Hazards" photo gallery.
Huge smoke plumes and blackened ground smudge both satellite photographs. The photos share the gallery with other natural hazards like Hurricane Ernesto and the eruption of New Zealand’s Mount Tongariro.
