BOISE -- The wall that surrounds Boise's downtown "hole" now carries a message about the problem of hunger in Idaho.
Boise City's Department of Arts and History recently asked the Idaho Foodbank and Boise Young Professionals to develop a new design for the wall at the corner of 8th and Main streets.
The goal is to draw attention to need around the state in advance of traditional fall and holiday food drives.
“What we're really trying to demonstrate is that hunger affects everyone, and as you can see by looking at the wall, we've got empty cupboards and empty refrigerators in too many homes in the state of Idaho today,” said Karen Vauk, Idaho Foodbank.
A local business called Wirestone volunteered to do the design.
A representative of Boise Young Professionals tells us they'll continue to come up with different looks for the wall in the future.
