BOISE -- High wind gusts are a possible factor in this truck and trailer tipping on its side in eastern Oregon Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened just after 2:00 p.m., five miles west of North Powder, Oregon.

The driver, Michael Corpus, of Santa Maria, California, told Oregon State Police heavy winds flipped the empty trailer causing it to block the majority of both lanes.

OSP says Corpus only received a minor injury and was not transported to the hospital.

Senior Trooper Ryan Moorehead with OSP was five miles from the scene and confirms there were extreme wind gusts, sleet, and heavy rain at that time.

North Powder Quick Response, Island City Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted OSP at the scene.
