MURPHY, Idaho -- A preliminary hearing for the Homedale woman accused of burning the remains of her two-year-old daughter has been postponed.

Twenty-nine-year-old Veronica Herrera is charged with willfully destroying, altering or concealing the body of her daughter, and was scheduled to be in court Monday afternoon, but the hearing was continued.

KTVB found a memorial to Herrera's two-year-old daughter, who died earlier this month.

Herrera says the girl fell and hit her head on a heater when she had been left in the care of a 9-year-old sibling.

Herrera told police that she didn't report the death because she was afraid she would lose custody of her other children.
