BOISE -- Hundreds of shoppers waited in line -- some for nearly 9 hours -- for the opening of the new H&M clothing store at the Boise Towne Square Mall.

The Swedish brand H&M stands for "Hennes and Maurtiz." The brand offers modern clothing lines focused on the whole family, with specialty sports, children, and maternity fashions.

Store hours will be  Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Katie Brinkman attends BYU Idaho, and was visiting friends for Thanksgiving when she learned about the opening of the H&M store.

She waited in line for more than five hours before the doors opened at noon Wednesday.

Her patience paid off because Brinkman was given a gift bag and $25 gift card for being one of the first 100 customers in line.

"We got here at 7 o'clock Brinkman said, "But other people got here at 3, so it's been a long day so far."

H&M is currently in the space vacated by the Borders Books, Music and Cafe in 2011.
