BOISE -- Due to the hot and dry weather that continues in the area, Idaho Power is putting fire restrictions at some of its parks in Hells Canyon and at C.J. Strike Reservoir near Bruneau.

A mandatory outdoor burning ban is also in effect for the Treasure Valley, due to hazardous air conditions.

SPECIFIC AREAS

  • In Hells Canyon, no fires of any kind (including charcoal briquettes) are allowed at Woodhead Park.
  • At C.J. Strike Reservoir, fires are NOT allowed in the North Park RV sites or at Cottonwood Park.
  • Fire is also prohibited at the Jacks Creek Recreation Area.

Idaho Power reminds all visitors that fire danger is high around all of our camping and recreation sites.
