BOISE -- Firefighters from Boise and Meridian were able to keep a fire that destroyed an outbuilding from spreading to a nearby building and an RV Sunday afternoon.

Crews were called out at 1:39 p.m. for reports of a structure fire on an old farm property on East Overland Road between Cloverdale and Eagle roads, a Boise Fire Department spokesperson said.

When crews arrived, they found an outbuilding and debris, including wood piled up next to the building, on fire. Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a nearby barn. An RV parked nearby did not burn, but did suffer heat damage.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out and remained on the scene to prevent grass and debris from re-igniting.

The property is in Meridian, but because of the close proximity to Boise Fire resources and a mutual aid agreement, firefighters from both agencies responded.

Meridian Fire Department investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
