BOISE -- The Boise Fire Department responded to a five-acre grass fire near Micron in Southeast Boise Thursday afternoon.

Boise Fire says around 3:45 p.m., a passerby called to report that shrubs were on fire on Federal Way.

While firefighters were responding, the fire was upgraded to a wildfire with structures threatened.

Officials say Boise Fire sent five engines, a ladder truck, three brush rigs, one water tender and two battalion chiefs.

Bureau of Land Management Boise District assisted Boise Fire with three brush rigs, one water tender and one bulldozer.

"Winds blowing about 15 miles per hour made the effort challenging but thanks to the quick response and extra resources, we were able to get the fire knocked down pretty quick before it could spread far enough to cause damage," said Boise Fire Battalion Chief Tom Pawek.

Ada County Dispatch says no structures were threatened

Officials believe the fire was human caused, but they are still investigating.
