MOUNTAIN HOME -- Passers-by might see a few unusual fighter jets buzzing across the horizon in southwest Idaho on Friday.

That's because several U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornets plan to conduct military exercises in the Boise and Mountain Home areas this Friday from late morning into the late afternoon.

According to 2nd Lt. David Liapis, Deputy Chief of the 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs, the hornet squadron known as the "Vikings" hails from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif.

Liapis says that While measures are in place to minimize flying over populated areas, residents may notice an increase in flight activity and noise.
