BOISE COUNTY -- An elderly couple had to be cut out of their car on Saturday night, after flipping off Highway 21 near Wilderness Ranch.
The initial call came in as a car in the river, but the car hit a tree which kept it on dry land.
Boise County Deputy David Lee spoke to KTVB about what happened once he arrived on scene.
"When I arrived, the ambulance was already here with the extrication equipment. They were cutting the individuals out," said Lee. "I assisted with helping the individuals come back up onto the pavement here, into the ambulances."
Despite the car being heavily damaged, the couple, in their mid-70's, only received minor injuries.
Deputies are still investigating why their car left the road in the first place.
