BOISE -- A little chihuahua that was born 6-months ago with a brain cyst and hydrocephalus, also known as water in the brain, had surgery this week.
"Princess" was close to death when she was taken to WestVet in Garden City. However, vets were able to perform brain surgery on the three-pound dog using tools not typically used for animals.
The tools Included a shunt made for pediatric patients and infants. Doctor Jeff Brourman with WestVet said Boise's St. Luke's Hospital helped them out to find a tool that would fit Princess.
The surgery lasted 90 minutes, and we're told Princess is making a good recovery.
