BOISE -- A new exhibit coming to Boise will be the first of its kind. The Discovery Center announced plans to bring Bodies Revealed, an exhibit using real bodies to open in September. Bodies Revealed is a traveling exhibit and it's opening at the Discovery Center in September.
Janine Boire, Executive Director of the Discovery Center says, "It's like no other exhibit out there," and tells us it will be one of the few exhibits visitors will be asked not to touch anything.
The 6,000 square foot exhibition will allow visitors to see up close and face-to-face how the human body works. The exhibit will showcase meticulously preserved human bodies and real body parts.
We asked Boire why organizers of the exhibit chose to use real bodies.
"Health is so complex and we're ever more responsible for our own health, and so this provides us all with a view of our bodies in a more powerful way than we've ever seen before," said Boire.
The Discovery Center says it expects record attendance of more than 100,000 people.
They will be selling tickets to the exhibition for specific days of entries, in addition, they will also begin selling tickets in advance starting in August.
The exhibit doesn't open until September 29, and will run through March of next year.
The Discovery Center says it has been asked by parents whether it's appropriate for young children, and they've told us it is appropriate for all ages, but advise that parents spend time preparing their kids for the visit.
