BOISE -- A Nevada man was busted smuggling nearly 3-pounds of meth into the Treasure Valley on Wednesday, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Office.

Jose Elias Carrillo, 25, of Las Vegas, was arrested and charged with felony drug trafficking. Deputies say he was likely headed to Caldwell.

Authorities pulled over Carrillo's Ford minivan because they say he was speeding and had crossed over the fog lane on westbound I-84 near Orchard Street in Boise.

Inside the minivan, they found three packages totalling 2.75 pounds of meth hidden under a front seat cushion, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies say they used a drug-sniffing dog to search Carillo's minivan "based on information obtained gathered at the stop."

He's currently in the Ada County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
