NEW PLYMOUTH, Idaho -- One person has died after a passenger car hit a piece of farm machinery on State Highway 52 north of New Plymouth around Noon Wednesday.

Idaho State Police say Tina Helmick, 51, of Emmett, was driving westbound in a 1990 Geo Prizm. Officers say she turned left at the intersection of Highway 52 and South East 1st in front of a farm truck hauling corn. The driver of the truck, Manuel Oritz-Monoz, 59, of Payette, wasn't able to stop and hit the car on the driver's side. 

Helmick died at the scene of the crash. The car had three passengers. Shawn Herrman, 36, of Emmett, was taken to Saint Alphonsus in Ontario, and Michael Garza, 22, of Emmett, was air lifted to Saint Alphonsus in Boise. The other passenger Michael Spicer, 20, of Emmett, and the driver of the farm truck were not hurt.

The crash is still under investigation by Idaho State Police.
