NAMPA – The Canyon County coroner has identified a woman who was found dead in a house fire near the Pickles Butte Landfill in Nampa on May 1.

The deceased woman is 53-year-old Lorinda Wallers of Homedale. The official cause of death has not been determined pending toxicology reports.

Deputies said some landfill workers smelled smoke and went to check the house on Missouri Avenue last Wednesday afternoon.

They spotted a woman on the floor and pulled her from the burning house, but it was too late to save her.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
