BOISE -- A Caldwell man drunkenly sideswiped another car at a stoplight in downtown Boise early Thursday morning, according to Boise police.

Anthoney  Martinez, 21, of Caldwell reportedly had an open beer bottle on the floor of his vehicle when stopped by officers.

According to reports, Martinez attracted their attention when he first ran a red light and nearly hit another vehicle on Front Street. However, before police could give chase, the 21-year-old crashed into another car at another stoplight just down the street.

They say Martinez kept driving, but was eventually pulled over and given several field sobriety tests, which he failed.

The 21-year-old is now in the Ada County Jail charged with DUI and a felony for leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say the driver of the vehicle he struck was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
